to Paint the edges or Not to paint... that is the question

This is a hard question because the point of letting the edges remain un 'finished' does reveal the history of the progress of the painting. That is appealing to me but for some it isn't. I think the answer to this question depends on the painting itself, and the party interested in it. So in my humble opinion, it is truly between the painter and the patron. Caroline

Thanks for your comment.  With my recent paintings I have been taking digital photos all along the process, capturing the history of the painting. This allows me the freedom to paint over the edges but still keep the history.

I have since yesterday picked a "Signature" color, red. This color will be applied to all edges, hopefully it will work on all the pieces.
